Employment Staffing
How Staffing Works
What does any company need in order to be successful? Well, it’s a combination of lots of things, but high on the list is good staff. Of course, you need good products or services too, but if you have good staff then the other things will naturally follow won’t they?
Finding Staff with the Right Stuff
Any employer will know that good staff are worth their weight in gold. The chances are that if you advertise a job vacancy in the local area, you might get 30 replies, out of those 30 there might be 5 who are worth interviewing, and out of those 5 you might be able to find one potential candidate who will fit in and do the job to the best of their ability, and then again, you might not. It’s all very time consuming and, to be honest, you will probably have lots of other pressing matters which need your urgent attention, which is where staffing agencies come in.
Specialist Staffing Agencies
Staffing Agencies often specialize in a particular area (Medical staffing agencies are a good example of this) so, if you have an opening in a very specific niche then you should speak to a suitable agency. There are also staffing agencies for hospitality events, restaurant staff and all types of other things. Staffing agencies are also a brilliant source of short term “emergency” staff, for example, if you have a large order come in to your company which needs lots more pairs of hands, but you know that as soon as the order is filled you can go back to your permanent workforce, then you can contact a staffing agency who will supply you with workers for a temporary period – if you like them you can ask them to come back, but if you don’t you can tell them you don’t need them any more – how brilliant is that. It’s a bit like “try before you buy” really.
Staffing agencies are also a great place to find employment for anyone who is finding the task a little daunting. Just as the potential employers can “try before they buy”, so can you, and if you find somewhere where you fit in and work hard, you never know, you might get the offer of something a little more permanent. On the other hand some people simply enjoy the variety of work on offer, they don’t really get the chance of being bored in one place for too long, they might be in a different location every single week, and they do say that variety is the spice of life!
Employment Staffing
Staffing Agencies really just sort the wheat from the chaff, and you’re left with the choice of whoever they’ve come up with. You should give them an accurate description of the work which is on offer, what you expect from your worker, what qualifications, experience, skills or qualities they must have and any other preferences. They can then match this up to their database of potential candidates, who will all have been individually assessed and screened so that they should, hopefully, match you with someone suitable without all of that wasted time. Sounds good to me!
